In 1966 she became Professor in Modern English at University College Galway. She wrote poetry and a critical biography of Kate O'Brien with whom she was a good friend. At UCD among her contemporaries were Flann O'Brien, Mary Lavin, Cyril Cusack. Among her European colleagues were Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir and others. She was a good cook and a frequent visitor to Italy. She was a highly respected educator, lecturer and a forceful personality. Herself and Kate O'Brien were close friends. Signed by Author.

This appears to be one of the 250 "regular copies," as it is bound in orange cloth (unless this is someone's s…trange idea of brown), but it is signed nonetheless. Fine copy. Includes a section on "the 'Powell Era' in the California Citrus Industry," followed by "Harold Powell's letters from Southern California" and "Harold Powell's letters from California and the West in 1909.".
