Lithography by Thomas Sinclair (1807-1881), or workshop, after Eliphalet Brown Jr. (1816-1886), c. 1860. Good condition. Paper slightly soiled. A very faint stain in the lower right corner of the margin (not affecting the image). Some minor creasing. Verso: blank. Note: portrayed with another unidentified translator. Dimensions: 233 x 157 mm. Moriyama Einosuke was Translator, Samurai, Interpreter, Chief Dutch Interpreter, and One of the chief men involved in the negotiations with Commodore Perry in regard to the opening of Japan to the outside world. c. 1860.
