Si tratta di casi drammatici, spesso violenti ma anche bizzarri. Quelli che dovevano suscitare particolare interesse fra le giovinette coinvolgevano omicidi, infanticidi e suicidi a causa di storie d'amore fallite, o addirittura di 'patti di morte' fra amanti disperati. vicende che la Storia ignora e che i cronisti narrano quasi sempre con distacco emotivo, se non con sufficienza e dileggio - soprattutto nei confronti delle donne.
