Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Sehr gut. Barbara Kruger (illustrateur). 1. Auflage. B : First Trade Edition. Not paginated. 13 5/8 x 9 1/4 inches - "My Pretty Pony" is a short story written by Stephen King and illustrated by the artist Barbara Kruger. It was the sixth publication in the Whitney Museum of American Art artist and writer series. Kruger's art often pairs appropriated black and white photographs with red bands of text carrying punchy, loaded phrases, such as "I shop therefore I am" or "Your body is a battleground." These provocative combinations of texts and images subvert commodity culture while simultaneously reveling in its attractive packaging.

Ajouter au panierDeluxe Edition. Large folio. One of only 250 copies, in addition to 30 authors' copies, SIGNED by both Kruger and King to colophon. For the sixth volume in the Whitney's collaborative Artists and Writers Series, Barbara Kruger illustrates a short story from Stephen King; a grandfatherly parable about the relativity of time. In addition to 8 bold silkscreen prints, in her characteristic textual style, Kruger supplies a series of color lithographs depicting fallen horses and their riders, with a sequence of fragmented captions that together read: "Time ain't got nothing to do with how fast you can count." Bound in iconic aluminum boards, with an (expired) digital clock embedded to front panel; the accompanying care sheet reads: "The clock, which is expected to last through 1990, is manufactured by Big Time at 5 Terminal Road, West Hempstead, New York. You may choose to replace the clock or not; its failure is to be considered a property of the book." Contents: 8 silkscreens and 10 lithographs, each interleaved with original tissue guards. Very minor scuffing to aluminum boards; close to fine.

Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. 1st Edition. folio. [ff. 32]. 9 colour lithographs, 8 silkscreens & 1 lithograph with screenprint. Uncut in original quarter red morocco, sheets of brushed aluminum mounted on sides, digital clock on upper cover. First Edition, Limited to 250 copies (+ 30 Author's copies) on Rives, signed by Kruger and King. This is the sixth of the Artists and Writers Series published by the Library Fellows of the Whitney Museum. The lithographs were printed by Maurice Sánchez at Derrière L'Étoile Studios, and the the silkscreens were printed by Pinwheel, New York. The text was set by hand in Century Schoolbook and printed at A.Colish under the supervision of Jerry Kelly. This artist's book combines King's short story about the perception and experience of time with Kruger's overlaid images of horses and riders. The images contain a small photograph of a hand holding a stopwatch punctuated by one or two words which together spell "Time ain't got nothing to do with how fast you can count". The brushed stainless steel cover of the book incorporates a digital clock to track the reader's own time but the battery has now run out. Signed by Author(s).
