Ajouter au panierHardcover. 6mo, ix, [1], 96, [2] pages. In Very Good minus condition. Bound in full brown leather with modern rebacking. Chipping, rubbing, and general shelfwear to boards. Armorial stamp on back board is somewhat more damaged and less distinct than that on the front. Archival repairs to pastedowns, frontispiece in color, light plus offsetting to plates. Small open tear to the upper margin of p. 13 (text not impacted). Twenty-four of twenty-five plates present (lacking the plate depicting The Spaniard, p. 68). JR Consignment. Shelved in Room G. The armorial stamp on both boards of this binding is the heraldic achievement of the British royal family between 1801 and 1816. With rare exceptions, royal armorial stamps of this kind do not indicate a royal provenance, but instead serve as a testament to the respect or loyalty that a previous owner held for the royal family. 1345608.
