Hardcover. x, 485p., hardbound in 10x7 inch green cloth boards spine-titled gilt, text a matrix of English with titles printed in characters and transliteration, a handled but still-sound copy with strong hinges and clean unmarked pages, titling on spine panel is rubbed and partly obliterated, casing is edgeworn with a touch of fray, a good copy. Laid in find postal communication of scholars: a postcard in English from Kyoto to another Kyoto resident (one Rev. David Casey), an airmail envelope addressed to Casey's church, and handwritten notes. The front free endpaper bears the reverend's neat small ownership signature.
