Ajouter au panierCouverture rigide. Etat : Très bon. Edition originale. TERENCE [Publius Terentius Afer]. [Madame DACIER, traductrice]. Bernard PICARD (illustrateur).

This book meticulously explores the land tenure system prevalent in India during the British colonial era, and its lasting effects on the nation. The author deftly analyzes the complex interplay between landownership, agricultural practices, and socio-economic hierarchies that shaped Indian society during this period. The book provides a comprehensive examination of the various land revenue systems implemented by the British, and their far-reaching consequences for rural communities. It sheds light on the dispossession of traditional landholders, the emergence of new agrarian classes, and the ensuing agrarian unrest that marked this era. By situating these developments within the broader context of colonial rule, the author offers a nuanced understanding of the historical forces that continue to influence land relations in India today. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
