(xlix) + 515pp. Top edges gilt; numerous monochrome illustrations, some full-page with tissue guard, others within text, and with smaller vignettes at head of each chapter. Front board almost completely detached (still just holding at bottom); spine lightly rubbed; title labels appear to have been re-glued, slightly crudely; pages rather browned on edges, with minor spotting to first few leaves; text otherwise clean and unmarked.
