Putnam went on to become one of the most significant translators of Spanish and French literature of his time, edited the expatriate "New Review" in Paris, and contributed one of the best memoirs of the Paris expatriate experience to the genre. Black paper-covered boards, gilt-lettered, uncut at fore and lower edges. Some minor bumping, mostly to corners.
