Stamped "Complete," and "Rerun," "Nov 1 1945" on front wrapper. Single annotation of name after "Checked By:" in manuscript pencil on verso of front wrapper, a printed form for tracking revisions, "Date," "Chgs," "Adds," and "Name," revision form un-entered. Based on the short story, "Louie, the Boy Who Talked with Horses," which was Chapter Ten of the 1945 novel "Joe, the Wounded Tennis Player," by Morton Thompson, who wrote the screenplay. Nine year old Baltimore boy, Lewie Penrose (Jackie 'Butch' Jenkins), believes he can converse with horses and pick the winners of races, attracting the attention of gambler Rich Roeder (Charles Ruggles), looking to win in the upcoming Preakness Stakes. Set in Baltimore, Maryland. Yellow titled wrappers, noted as COMPLETE on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped production No. 126, dated 7.26-45, with credits for screenwriter Morton Thompson and "Okayed by:" producer Mr. (Samuel) Marx. Title page integral with the first page of text, dated 7-24-45. 164 leaves, with last page of text numbered 155.
