The Binding is full gray cloth, color uniform throughout, with the Lucien Bernard torchbearer blindstamped to the front board, bright gilt title, etc., to the spine, unmarked brown Lucien Bernard designed endpapers, and all corners square and three of them sharp. The Dust Jacket is bright, colors uniform throughout, and fully intact with the original prices (U.S. $21.95 Canada $30.95) intact on the front flap. Set over the course of one day, June 16, 1904, in Dublin, and consisting of 18 chapters, each drawn from an episode in Homer's Odyssey, follows three characters, based on Odysseus (Leopold Bloom), Penelope (Molly Bloom) and Telemachus (Stephen Daedalus), using stream of consciousness techniques including interior monologue and soliloquy, as they wander through the day. In 1961 Random House and Modern Library produced this complete and unabridged text with corrections to the 1934 edition. In 1970, they added in the margins notations to the original page numbering from the 1934 edition. The 1992 edition adds a short Biographical Note to the beginning of the book.
