Hardcover. Etat : Fine. Text in English and Finnish. 549 pp. In Finland, ringing of birds was initiated 100 years ago. Since then, almost 10.4 million birds have been ringed with more han 1.1 million subsequent encounters. These data, hosted by the Finnish Ringing Centre, provide information on migration routes, wintering areas, causes of death and site fidelity of birds. The aim of The Finnish Ringing Atlas is to thank and motivate voluntary ringers, give research ideas for scientists and provide authorities and members of the public with unique information on movements of birds. This first of the two volumes gives an introduction to the history of ringing, illustrates temporal changes in numbers of birds ringed and encountered and describes other marking techniques. The species accounts include the orders from Anseriformes to Charadriiformes (ending to Skuas). The Finnish Ringing Atlas has been funded by the Kone Foundation and the Ministry of Environment.…

Etat : new. Pages: 336 Language: Estonian. Saksa Demokraatlikku Vabariiki vankumatult uskuv Markus kolib 1983. aastal koos perega Ida-Berliini väliskorrespondendiks. "Sinu Margot" (Sinun, Margot) on nimetatud Soomes 2021. aasta parimaks debüütteoseks. Kirjastusele tuli romaani menu üllatusena, teose kaks esimest tiraazhi müüdi kiirelt läbi, kolmandat tuli oodata, kuna koroonapandeemia tekitas probleeme trükkimisega. Meri Valkama (snd 1980) on soome uuriv ajakirjanik, kirjanik ja kommunikatsioonispetsialist. Varases lapsepõlves Ida-Berliinis elanud, õppis ta hiljem ülikoolis Freie Universität Berlin politoloogiat ja ajakirjandust ning tegi seal uurimustöö Saksa DV-s töötanud ajakirjanike kohta. Proosa kirjutamist on Valkama õppinud muu hulgas koolitus- ja kultuurikeskuses Kriittinen Korkeakoulu. Valkama debüütromaan "Sinu Margot" pälvis ajalehe Helsingin Sanomat kirjandusauhinna. Zhürii hinnangul on see äärmiselt küps ja tasakaalukas teos, mis arendab vaheldumisi kaht ajatasandit ja hulka teemasid alates Euroopa ajaloost kuni lähisuhete probleemideni ja ideoloogia muutumise mõjuni üksikisiku elus. Valkama on loonud tunnetele rõhuva ideeajaloolise trilleri, mille peategelane uurib ennekõike siiski omaenda olemust. Loe katkendit raamatust Rahva Raamatu blogis. 9789916702659.…
