Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations are lightly tanned throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Splits to spine ends causing cloth to be frayed. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Charmingly old fashioned tale of some children, a blind man and their dog called Nigger. Very un-PC these days of course, but delightful in its own way. Lovely and clean internally and the boards are, on the whole, acceptably fresh looking, although they are somewhat spotted on the front board and have the odd speck and light stain to the back board. The title lettering on the front board and spine remains nice and crisp. No inscriptions and the pages are bright throughout. Wonderful colour and black & white drawings throughout the book. A presentable copy.
