Ajouter au panierPaperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the life and times of a 17th-century Englishman, renowned for his mastery of the contemplative art of angling. Set against the backdrop of a changing England, the narrative intricately weaves biographical details with philosophical reflections on the virtues of a simple, nature-oriented life. Through anecdotes and observations, the author paints a vivid portrait of the angler as a man of quiet wisdom and humility, deeply connected to the natural world. The book explores the angler's relationships with prominent figures of his era, including theologians, poets, and intellectuals, highlighting the interplay between faith, reason, and the pursuit of leisure. More than just a treatise on fishing, this book delves into themes of contentment, morality, and the human connection to the environment. The author's prose, infused with gentle humor and insightful observations, transcends time, offering enduring lessons on finding peace and fulfillment in a world often characterized by complexity and chaos. Ultimately, this book invites readers to contemplate the deeper significance of angling, revealing its potential to cultivate not only patience and skill but also a profound appreciation for the beauty and interconnectedness of life. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
