The transcript number, in order of telecast, was compiled and maintained by SECA commencing with the program's move to the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in 1971 although the number does not appear in the issue. This is the transcript of the Firing Line program taped at WHYY in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 9, 1974, and originally telecast on PBS on July 14, 1974. Hosted by William F. Buckley, Jr., the topic was "The Limits of Journalistic Investigation"; the guests were Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, both reporters for The Washington Post, and co-authors of All the President's Men.
