Ajouter au panierEtat : Good. Oblong 4to stringâ'tied pictorial wrappers, 26 pages, text, charts, and forms, with mounted portrait of William Windsor. "Given by" line completed for Russell Haigh Windsor, D.G., Ph.D. (Vice-President, International College of Vitosophy). Includes the printed certificate of examination completed in manuscript for Mrs. Anna K. Fischer at Detroit, Michigan, dated September 19, 1929 and signed by Russell H. Windsor. Internal sections include preface and instructions ("How to Obtain the Full Benefits of Vitosophy"), a brief history of "Vitosophy," "The Galaxy of Virtues" score sheet (completed in pen with several "Excellent" notations), practical advice pages ("Rules for Health Culture," "Social Faculties," etc.), and tables for head/diagram measurements. Copyright notice reads: 1899, 1911, and 1922 by William Windsor. Condition: Good. Covers toned and rubbed with overall handling soil; edge wear with small chips, tears, and creases, corners softened; small stain and abrasion to front cover; rear wrapper with tide marks/soiling; string tie present. Text block generally clean and supple; a few handling marks and the expected contemporary manuscript entries on the âGalaxy of Virtuesâ and certificate pages. No loose leaves noted. Not a first edition; this is the 1922 revised printing of Windsorâs delineation booklet (earlier versions date to 1899, with a 1911 revision). The present example was used in 1929, as evidenced by the completed certificate and annotations. Certificate issued to and filled in for Mrs. Anna K. Fischer, Detroit, MI; certificate no. 14279, dated and signed by Russell H. Windsor. A representative and fully personalized specimen of early-20th-century character-reading ephemera from the Windsor "Vitosophy" movement, combining phrenological and physiognomic claims with selfâ'help "virtues" pedagogy. Useful for collections in the histories of pseudoscience, New Thought/occult therapeutics, and American popular psychology.
