Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 222 pages; over 80 stories about American Indians as a reader for the elementary student. Story is a narrative of a little Algonquin boy who lives in the NY area; he travels westard through the Niagara River; Lake Erie into the prairie region. He meets a Sioux boy; they hunt buffalo; cross the Mississipi and trvel southwest to the Grand Canyon, entering the country of the Navaho and Pueblo; finally returning home, where Shining Star goes home and is made chief of the tribe. Pages tight; slight yellowing; several color illustrations throughout book. Moderate page wear. No markings on pages. Previous school name stamped on front inside blank page. Small tears on a few pages. Orange hardback cover with black lettering and illustration of two Indian boys and horse. Inside spine fold slightly weakened. Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Book size about 6 by 8 inches. Bound in blue cloth with front cover gilt decoration and lettering. A Bridal Shower book from 1926 which the bride-to-be filled in with the items important to her. This from Miss Myrl Bryan of the Pasadena, California area. Contains the wedding announcement; a hand written description of how she met the bridegroom; cards which accompanied shower gifts; dance cards; hand written list of her 'hope chest'; cut outs from pretty napkins; newspaper announcements; pressed flowers; and much else. The bride-to-be was obviously from a very well-off family as noted by the gift from her parents of $800.00. This is, of course, a unique book. Light wear; signs of ageing to be expected.
