Indian foods, dances, and songs are also included." Much of the material was narrated to Project members when the Indians were assembled for pow~wows, or at church meetings. There were separate meetings between the old and young men as well. Sidney Bean, a young college graduate, and Wilbur Bordeaux, prominent young French~Indian, visited the Yankton and Rosebud reservations to gather the legends from the very old chieftains.
