Neuware - Der aus der Ukraine stammende Fotojournalist Dima Gavrysh ( 1978) verfolgt mit der Serie Inshallah (frei ü bersetzt 'so Gott will') seine Sicht auf den Krieg der USA in Afghanistan. In der Ukraine aufgewachsen, seit 2004 jedoch in die USA emigriert, lebt er zum zweiten Mal in einem Land, das sich im K…rieg mit Afghanistan befindet. Als 'embedded journalist' verfolgte er den Konflikt aus nächster Na he. Seine Antwort darauf war jedoch nicht, ein präzises Bild der Gegebenheiten in streng fotojournalistischer Manier wiederzugeben. Stattdessen erarbeitete sich Gavrysh eine künstlerische Bildsprache, die starke Eindrücke und Emotionen vermittelt, ohne Bericht zu erstatten. In seinen Arbeiten vermischt der Fotograf die romantisch-heroisierenden Kriegsvisionen aus der Kindheit und seine persönlichen Konflikte mit den Bildern, die ihm im Kriegsgebiet begegneten. Hypnotisiert von der Komplexität des afghanischen Chaos, empfand er diese Vorgehensweise als die einzige Möglichkeit, mit den Tatsachen umzugehen: Zwei Reiche, zwei Mentalita ten, derselbe Kriegsschauplatz mit dem zeitlichen Abstand von zwölf Jahren. Inshallah wurde auf der Photoquai 4éme biennale des images du monde in Paris 2013 gezeigt.
