Ajouter au panierQuarter Leather. Etat : Good. No Dust Jacket. OLD 020174 Scarce. Quarter brown leather, with red marbled boards and decorative gilt titling on the spine. Front board is loose, rear is tight and the text block holds together nicely. The leather over the spine is torn crosswise at the midpoint of the spine but is still holding to…the back board, as well as what looks to be a mended five-inch tear in the leather at the bottom of the spine. Otherwise there is the expected (light) scuffing of the leather and marbling - quite attractive in spite of this. The interior is clean for the most part, with some foxing at the very beginning and a couple of very light marginal pencil marks . Frontis Illustration (illustrateur).

Chipewyan to the Pacific Ocean" in 1793 was a milestone and, as Wheat says, "at once questions began to be raised about the now patent inadequacies of all prior maps of the American Far West." "Mackenzie?s expedition departed Fort Chippewyan in northern Alberta on October 10, 1792, and wintered at a remote trading post near the modern town of Peace River. Taking this south past present-day Prince George, they followed its tributary known today as West Road River and took overland trails through present-day Tweedsmuir Provincial Park to Bella Coola.
