Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. Neuware -This book presents a global pseudo-differential calculus in Euclidean spaces, which includes SG as well as Shubin classes and their natural generalizations containing Schroedinger operators with non-polynomial potentials. This calculus is applied to study global hypoellipticity for several pseudo-differential operators. The book includes classic calculus as a special case. It will be accessible to graduate students and of benefit to researchers in PDEs and mathematical physics.Springer Basel AG in Springer Science + Business Media, Heidelberger Platz 3, 14197 Berlin 316 pp. Englisch.

Buch. Etat : Neu. Neuware -Linearization models for discrete and continuous time dynamical systems are the driving forces for modern geometric function theory and composition operator theory on function spaces. This book focuses on a systematic survey and detailed treatment of linearization models for one-parameter semigroups, Schröder¿s and Abel¿s functional equations, and various classes of univalent functions which serve as intertwining mappings for nonlinear and linear semigroups. These topics are applicable to the study of problems in complex analysis, stochastic and evolution processes and approximation theory.Springer Basel AG in Springer Science + Business Media, Heidelberger Platz 3, 14197 Berlin 284 pp. Englisch.

Buch. Etat : Neu. Neuware -This book consists of translations into English of several pioneering papers in the areas of discrete and continuous convolution operators and on the theory of singular integral operators published originally in Russian. The papers were wr- ten more than thirty years ago, but time showed their importance and growing in uence in pure and applied mathematics and engineering. The book is divided into two parts. The rst ve papers, written by I. Gohberg and G. Heinig, form the rst part. They are related to the inversion of nite block Toeplitz matrices and their continuous analogs (direct and inverse problems) and the theory of discrete and continuous resultants. The second part consists of eight papers by I. Gohberg and N. Krupnik. They are devoted to the theory of one dimensional singular integral operators with discontinuous co- cients on various spaces. Special attention is paid to localization theory, structure of the symbol, and equations with shifts. ThisbookgivesanEnglishspeakingreaderauniqueopportunitytogetfam- iarized with groundbreaking work on the theory of Toepliz matrices and singular integral operators which by now have become classical. In the process of the preparation of the book the translator and the editors took care of several misprints and unessential misstatements. The editors would like to thank the translator A. Karlovich for the thorough job he has done. Our work on this book was started when Israel Gohberg was still alive. We see this book as our tribute to a great mathematician.Springer Basel AG in Springer Science + Business Media, Heidelberger Platz 3, 14197 Berlin 240 pp. Englisch.

Buch. Etat : Neu. Neuware -Several Complex Variables is a beautiful example of a eld requiring a wide rangeoftechniquescoming fromdiverseareasin Mathematics.Inthe lastdecades, many major breakthroughs depended in particular on methods coming from P- tial Di erential Equations and Di erential and Algebraic Geometry. In turn, S- eralComplexVariablesprovidedresultsandinsightswhichhavebeenoffundam- tal importance to these elds. This is in particular exempli ed by the subject of Cauchy-Riemanngeometry,whichconcernsitselfbothwiththetangentialCauchy- Riemannequationsandtheuniquemixtureofrealandcomplexgeometrythatreal objects in a complex space enjoy. CR geometry blends techniques from algebraic geometry, contact geometry, complex analysis and PDEs; as a unique meeting point for some of these subjects, it shows evidence of the possible synergies of a fusion of the techniques from these elds. The interplay between PDE and Complex Analysis has its roots in Hans Lewy¿s famous example of a locally non solvable PDE. More recent work on PDE has been similarly inspired by examples from CR geometry. The application of analytic techniques in algebraic geometry has a long history; especially in recent years, the analysis of the -operator has been a crucial tool in this eld. The -operator remains one of the most important examples of a partial di erential operator for which regularity of solutions under boundary constraints have been extensively studied. In that respect, CR geometry as well as algebraic geometry have helped to understand the subtle aspects of the problem, which is still at the heart of current research.Springer Basel AG in Springer Science + Business Media, Heidelberger Platz 3, 14197 Berlin 360 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -This book focuses on recent advances in the classification of complex projective varieties. It is divided into two parts. The first part gives a detailed account of recent results in the minimal model program. In particular, it contains a complete proof of the theorems on the existence of flips, on the existence of minimal models for varieties of log general type and of the finite generation of the canonical ring. The second part is an introduction to the theory of moduli spaces. It includes topics such as representing and moduli functors, Hilbert schemes, the boundedness, local closedness and separatedness of moduli spaces and the boundedness for varieties of general type. The book is aimed at advanced graduate students and researchers in algebraic geometry. 200 pp. Englisch.
