In nearly all cases this means one copy printed with a border and one printed without a border and a trifle lighter.A previous owner has corrected the title of a number of plates (in pencil). I have accepted their alterations. Several of these where originally titled Greatt Snoring - but there is no Great Snoring featuring in the content list. However, there is one plate in part one titled Great Snoring which does not appear to be a duplicate or misnamed. The plates were drawn on stone by D. Hodgson from drawings by Francis Stone and Son. There are two printed title pages at the start of the first volume. Many of the plates without borders (especially in part four) have waterstains. There is some occasional foxing and the page edges are often discoloured from handling. An unusual example of a scarce title. A handsome binding, but many plates only good.
