Handsome full black leather binding; spine decorated with three slightly raised bands; bright gilt stamping to front board and spine…. All edges gilt. Faux marbled patterned endpapers. Sewn-in pale pink silk ribbon page marker. Laid-in at front endpapers is bookmark for Jackson, Mississippi bookstore Lemuria. Interior pages are bright and clean. Binding remains fairly crisp. A fine copy. Introduction (pages ix-xviii) by Donald Young along with Neumann's original Preface (pages xxi-xxiv). With frontispiece plate, color map on page xx, other b/w illustrations both as full page plates and as well as inset amongst text by contributors John Guille Millais, Edmund Caldwell, and George Edward Lodge.
