Stark achieved prominence through her interwar travels in the Middle East, and in 1933 she became the first female recipient of the Royal Asiatic Society's Burton medal. 8 works, octavo. Original black cloth, spines lettered in gilt, variable endpapers. With dust jackets. Head of boards sunned a…nd dust-soiled to varying degrees, some edges foxed, first vol. with residue and marking from adhesive tape on boards and endpapers; jackets unclipped, light creasing and scuffing, occasional spotting and couple of stains: a very good set in like jackets.
