He received three Pulitzer Prizes, one for The Bridge of San Luis Rey and two for his plays Our Town and The Skin of Our Teeth, and a National Book Award for his novel The Eighth Day--I have a first edition of that book listed here. The Cabala (1926) is the semi-autobiographical novel of unforgettable characters and human passions which launched Wilder's career. The Bridge of San Luis Rey (1927) is a masterpiece of fiction, about several interrelated people who die in the collapse of an Incan rope bridge in Peru. The Woman of Andros was the third best-selling book in the US in 1930. It is set on a fictional Greek island around 200 BC and examines conflicts between Christian and pre-Christian morality. 309 pages, no adornment. The dust jacket is in good condition with very minor shelfwear The original owner stamped his name on the front endpaper. Other than that, the book is perfect. Mint condition.
