Book is clean, untanned, with unmarked text, free of inscriptions and stamps, firmly bound. No dust jacket. -- Stereology of Objects with Internal Structure presents a rigorous mathematical and methodological framework for quantifying the geometry of internal structures in natural and synthetic objects. The book begins with foundational concepts, introducing models of structural elements and their measurable properties, including compact sets, convex bodies, convex rings, and their topological and geometrical characteristics. Emphasis is placed on invariant measures such as Minkowski functionals, kinematic measures, and projections, providing tools for analyzing complex internal configurations through subsets and linear subspaces. Building on this, the text develops the principles of stereology for objects with internal structure, covering randomization of probes, kinematic relations, and core stereological formulae. Special attention is given to statistical estimators, sampling strategies (including random, weighted, and systematic methods), and the handling of edge effects. Advanced sampling models - deterministic and random - are addressed alongside particle analysis. The volume concludes with detailed appendices on Minkowski set algebra, geometric notation, topological invariants like the Euler-Poincaré characteristic, and Monte Carlo integration methods. This work provides a comprehensive and mathematically grounded approach to geometric sampling and measurement in structural analysis, serving as a technical reference for applications in materials science, image analysis, and morphometry.…
