Hardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : None, As Issued. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1 pages. Published in 2008. Rare Anton Chekhov, "The Lady With The Dog", and Iosif Heifitz collectible set. A fine single-weight silver-gelatin print of the iconic scene of the film with a pristine copy of the Facets Videos film transfer version on DVD. "The Lady With The Dog" is perhaps Chekhov's most beloved (and most famous) short story. The film version is on every reputable list of the greatest films of the 20th century, that is to say, the greatest films of all time, the 20th century being cinema's unsurpassable Golden Age. The promotional print of "The Lady With The Dog" shows the protagonists in the film's single most famous scene. Print size is 5.0 X 7.0 inches (vertical portrait). Eminently suitable for framing. Encased in its own protective plastic sheet with brown cardboard backing. The Facets Video DVD Edition is widely regarded as the best extant film transfer of the film, incomparably superior to all other releases on DVD. The film is NOT available on streaming services. Without DJ, as issued. There is no ISBN. The set is now rare. Presents Anton Chekhov's and Iosif Heiftiz's "The Lady With The Dog". A rare event: Two masterpieces of Russian culture for posterity, the original, literary; the adaptation, cinematic. Unlike Chekhov, the film director would have languished in permanent obscurity were it not for this one film, which he re-imagined for the medium as a visual and literary artist in his own right ("Heifitz" is sometimes spelled as "Kheifits"). Both the short story and the film have influenced several generations of writers, artists, and film directors. The most recent notable is Andre Aciman's "Find Me" (2019), his dazzling sequel to "Call Me By Your Name" (2007). An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, set for Anton Chekhov, "The Lady With The Dog", and Iosif Heifitz collectors. This vintage print is a classic. This Facets Video Edition is the best available version of the film transfer on DVD. This title is both a great short story and a great film. As far as we know, this is the only set available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Analog prints are desirable because they are hand-made, and are no longer being produced as such by almost all contemporary photographers. The film is NOT available through the streaming services. A rare set thus. One of the greatest films of the 20th century. A fine set. no.…
