Bradbury rewrote and revised about half of the stories for The October Country and the original versions of his early work remained out of print until this limited editio…n reissue. For this edition, edited by Donn Albright, spelling errors were corrected, but the text was kept intact. In addition, four other stories from the same era have been added. Each story is prefaced by a reproduction of the magazine cover where it originally appeared. At the back of the book are 53 pages of facsimiles of letters and typescripts related to Dark Carnival, all of which are published here for the first time. This edition also includes a history of Dark Carnival by Jon Eller, an introduction by Bradbury, and an afterword by Clive Barker. The book is accompanied by a CD of interviews with Bradbury and a chapbook story, Time Intervening, issued as a promotional item in an edition of 752 numbered copies. The box is illustrated with the US and UK covers of the first edition artwork. xxiii, 512 pages. First edition (first printing). A fine copy (the page block sags a bit) in a fine dust jacket. In a near fine drawer-box. This is one of 10 PPC (out of series) copies of the lettered issue. It is signed by Bradbury and Clive Barker on a tipped-in limitation sheet. The CD fine, with "#10" written on it, presumably indicating that this was the last of the 10 PPC copies. A short chapbook was sent to the purchasers of this book; it is not included here, possibly as issued. The print run of the chapbook was supposedly 752 copies, which equals the total of the numbered and the lettered copies.

Bradbury rewrote and revised about half of the stories for The October Country and the original versions of his early work remained out of print until this limited ed…ition reissue. For this edition, edited by Donn Albright, spelling errors were corrected, but the text was kept intact. In addition, four other stories from the same era have been added. Each story is prefaced by a reproduction of the magazine cover where it originally appeared. At the back of the book are 53 pages of facsimiles of letters and typescripts related to Dark Carnival, all of which are published here for the first time. This edition also includes a history of Dark Carnival by Jon Eller, an introduction by Bradbury, and an afterword by Clive Barker. The book is accompanied by a CD of interviews with Bradbury and a chapbook story, Time Intervening, issued as a promotional item in an edition of 752 numbered copies.
