During the last decade, Finland has become one of the world¿s most successful technology-intensive countries, finding itself in the front rank of the world¿s digital economies. In a decade, Finland went from being one of the least information and communication technologies specialized countries to become the single most specialized one. ¿Currently the Finnish ICT sector, with Nokia as its locomotive, consists of some 6 thousand firms and accounts for approximately 10 percent of Finland¿s GDP¿ (Rouvinen & Antilla 2003, p.87) and therefore have put Finland on the map of global economies. Determining for this ¿raise¿ of Finland is the development of a new growth path in this small Nordic country. Finland has managed to transform itself from a resource-based into a knowledge-based economy in a rather short period of time, especially without any major cutbacks in his highly developed welfare state system. The essential point of analysis in my essay deals with the question, how Finland managed to become one of the most successful ICT-countries in the world. How was it possible for this small Nordic country to go through a structural change from forestry to ICT Nowadays, ¿about 6000 firms (mostly small and medium-sized) and 200 electronics manufacturing services companies make up the so called ¿ICT cluster¿. Some 350 of them are first-tier suppliers to Nokia, and represent the ¿Nokia network¿¿ (Daveri & Silva 2002, p.9).So I will start my analysis by defining structural change to create a basic which is necessary to understand the whole process. With the use of statistical data I will then try to explain Finland¿s way from forestry to ICT. The United States, as the world¿s largest polluter5 to climate change ¿ US emissions of CO exceed those of all other countries6 plus on a per capita basis US CO -emissions are the highest off all countries7 ¿ plays a major, if not the decisive, role in international environmental politics and the dialogue for a global strategy to address climate change. While the United States was one of the leading countries in terms of progressive domestic legislation and one of the driving forces behind international environmental agreements (e.g. dealing with the problem of ozone depletion culminating in the Montreal Protocol) 8, the US is now not only blocking the Kyoto Protocol, but also actively pressuring other undecided countries not to sign and ratify the Protocol. Paradoxically, American scientists have played a leading role in identifying the anthropogenic affect on global warming and its dangerous consequences, yet political commitment and leadership to address the climate change problem is very weak.American foreign policy especially with regards to climate change can only be explained by a myriad of factors, ranging from concerns for national interests and the influence of domestic politics, to the ability of exercising leadership.9 In the course of this paper I want to shed some light on the politics behind the U.S. climate change policy. The main questions will be: Who are the key players in the decision-making process and which groups influence the policy-shaping of these key players. In the end I will reflect my findings upon the U.S. politics around the Kyoto Protocol and compare the approach to climate change policy of former President Clinton with that of current President Bush. An attempt will be made to prove that the rhetoric of the Bush Administration was the key to the high level of support from the U.S. population, for the invasion of Iraq. An analysis will be provided of speeches given by George W. Bush where it will be explored how exactly language and rhetoric was used to shape public opinion and therefore pave for this invasion and, subsequently, the war. This analysis is conducted, using a corpus that was created containing all presidential speeches given between the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the beginning of the Iraq war in March, 2003. Die hohe Belastung der Studenten ist aber nachvollziehbar, da der Staat versucht die Kinder schon im Kindergarten zu Produktionseinheiten der Zukunft zu erziehen. Aus meiner Sicht erzeugt die künstlich erschaffene Bringpflicht in den Kindern einen negativen Leistungsdruck. .

But our reason for omitting such a comparison is based on the fact that an analysis of this kind would have to rely primarily on linguistic aspects. The numerous pictures in slideshow obituaries would be dealt with very briefly and which does not do justice to the prominent role they play in this particular kind of text.But the ¿more¿ of a slideshow obituary is not only the pictures. Other visuals play an important role, the layout, the hosting website. You have the freedom to use different fonts and font sizes. You can create everything from scratch or fall back on websites that provide design templates. You can add music or a voice message. The content is usually much less limited than that of a traditional obituary. This myriad of design possibilities leads to our hypothesis: we propose that, in slideshow obituaries, the different modalities ¿ especially word and image ¿ cannot be separated from one another. It will introduce the concept and give examples of different website providing such a service. Chapter three contains the main part of this paper; the analysis of our small corpus of slideshow obituaries. We will determine the functions of the word and the functions of the image. A comparison of these analyses will support our hypothesis. International organisations promote the further integration of these; national governments put the frameworks on the top of their agendas.The aim of this project is to show the possible influence of regional cooperation frameworks in the development process of the countries in the West-African region. The analysis was focused on two existent regional frameworks, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).During the analysis, the nature of the ECOWAS and the WAEMU is to be identified as well as possible differences in their approach of the regional development.
