Colour photopictorial green dust jacket; ¾" closed tear at top rear, tiny one at bottom; small mark near title; minor rubbing to corners. But for the mis-bound pages, a fine copy in near fine dust jacket. (Note: Although this is the first appearance of the work, and but for the absence of the slipcase, appears for all intents and purposes the same as the 1988 "true" first edition, this 1987 printing was not authorized by the authors.).

One small tear visible at the top over the "S" in Steinbeck's name. Binding is tight and straight. Appears unread. Some fading on upper blue cover. All in all a nice collectible copy.
