Hardcover. Etat : Sehr gut. Etat de la jaquette : Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 224 pages, 70 color illustrations, clothbound with dustcover. - Artists' book: an exchange of images and texts between Australia and Rotterdam. "The imagination lies at the opposite end of the spectrum from the view. While the view suffers from chronic delay, caused by the inertia of light, multiplied by frictional losses in the human visual organ, imagination is a real-time phenomenon. With properly functioning eyesight, the view is guaranteed, whereas the imagination has to be forced." Theo Deutinger "Help Me I Am Blind!"two people in search of the intervening space. Heidi Specker's photographed views of Australia are answered by the daily imaginings of Theo Deutinger in Rotterdam. An exchange of images and textsin real time via the Internetresults in testimonies of distance and closenessat a time when the meter and kilometer have obviously outlived their relevance as measures of distance.…

Softcover. Etat : Sehr gut. 1. Auflage.

Hardcover. Etat : Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 112 pages with numerous colour illustrations. - Between 2004 and 2005, Emmanuelle Antille has realized a body of work using photography and video on a teenage group's intimacy and rituals. Living in suburban no-man's-land, these teenagers are portrayed as individuals as much as a community. Between fiction and documentary, this work by the Swiss artist Emmanuelle Antille is published here for the first time, on the occasion of her project at Tokyo Wonder Site.…

Softcover. Etat : Gut bis sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 156 pages, 170 b/w illustrations - An artist's book revisiting the well-known film sequence from Eisenstein's "Battleship Potemkin." "Odessa Staircase Redux" is a kind of flipbook revisiting the well-known film sequence from Sergei Eisenstein's "Battleship Potemkin." The first frame of every cut is drawn in black ink by hand. The ensuing series of 158 ink drawings is organized to form a typology of camera angles and subject matter that in turn creates a new animation of the scene in the mind of the viewer.…

Hardcover. Etat : Sehr gut. Z : hardcover, cloth binding, 126 pages, 20 b/w illustrations - Artist's book. In 2003, Mexican artist Iñaki Bonillas introduced the photographic archive belonging to his grandfather, José Rodríguez Plaza, into his work. Its content which, since that time has undergone a wide range of operations, has permitted him to combine elements that seemed, a priori, incompatible: on the one hand, a personal, biographical narrative, consisting of anecdotes and rather personal character notes; and, on the other, a quasi-scientific sense of compilation and classification.…

Softcover. Etat : Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 192 pages, 160 colour & 32 b/w illustrations - Monograph / artist's book. Matias Faldbakken (*1973) is an artist and writer living in Oslo. Son of the celebrated Norwegian author Knut Faldbakken, he has published two novels, The Cocka Hola Company and Macht und Rebel under the alias Abo Rasul. Drenched with acid humor and continuously hitting below the waist, his books immediately caused a considerable stir in Norway. If, in these publications, he underlines the differences and similarities between the so-called underground and the mainstream, and between the "independent" and the "commercial" in everyday life, these subjects are also central to his art practice. Fascinated with systems of knowledge, power, order, and exchange, he shows an interest in understanding how art and artists can be active participants in these systems.…

Softcover. Etat : Sehr gut. 1. Auflage.
