Fantastic book. About the book >.>.> This was a menial task for the boy painters as it required only limited skill. The price paid was thus known as "Tuppenny Hunting." It sold in vast quantities and so effectively sabotaged any chance that these young men might be given any serious challenge for their skills. The only change of work they had was when they were called upon to paint Billingsley Rose. This was another bulk earthenware pattern with outline prints, consisting of a single rose bloom in the centre of the plate, which was painted in pink, with surrounding buds, green leaves and forget-me-nots. Painting Billingsley Rose was no better paid than Herring (MP).…
