The owner of the business, Ernest Kerry, was born in Germany, Ernst Karl Wilhelm Josef Hubert De Ketschendorf. He moved to England, probably as a child, and changed his name to Ernest Kerry, probably around the time of the first world war, certainly by 1925. (John Austin). .
