A single mom, Gillian, and her two children, Mickey and Travis, reluctantly accept the help of "Genie," a genie whose been imprisoned in a magic carpet for 2,000 years. ABC canceled the series after seven episodes in November, 1997, and aired the remaining six episodes the following summer in 1988. In the fourth episode, "Mind Games," Genie grants Gillian the power to read minds and discovers her daughter Mickey is hiding a pack of cigarettes. In the ninth episode, "All in the Family Room," Gillian decorates the family room with momentos while Travis uses Genie to abscond to a pirate ship centuries earlier.
