The book is nicely illustrated with several sections of vintage, b&w photos from the lumber camps of the North Woods. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some edge wear, particularly at the top edge and a small, 1/2 inch tear there as well. The spine of the dust jacket seems a bit darkened from handling. The hard covers are pristine and the gilt titles on the spine bright and handsome. Inside, a former owner has left her penciled name just above that of the Author, on the front endpaper. I found no other marks in the book and the interior pages are bright white and clean, without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. I discovered that I have an extra copy of this book, not surprisingly because living in the Mohawk Valley, when one heads to the mountains this is where you usually go. Please find a very nice copy of: The Adirondacks Fulton Chain-Big Moose Region the Story of a Wilderness, by Joseph F. Grady. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ½ x 9 ¼ inches, 320 pages) was published by North Country Books of Old Forge, New York, dated 1972 and the Third Edition (so stated). The book is bound in dark blue boards with extensive gilt titles on cover and spine. The book is very well-illustrated, opening with a nice map of the Fulton Chain- Big Moose Region of the Central Adirondacks on the front endpaper and another 24 pages of b&w photos. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is a bit of edge wear to the dust jacket, at the corners and spine tips and one small tear of the surface at the base of the spine. The hard covers are dust-dulled and the gilt titles muted but still fully legible. Inside, a former owner has left his inked name on the half-title page but that is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages are bright white and clean throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
