Siete capítulos integran este libro. El primero analiza el trasvase de las locuciones en dos versiones árabes de La colmena. El segundo aborda la traducción al inglés del realismo grotesco en Mazurca para dos muertos. El análisis de los culturemas en la versión alemana de esta obra es objeto de estudio del cuarto capítulo, mientras que el tercero y el quinto abordan el tema de la recepción de Cela en alemán e italiano. El sexto estudio se centra en el trasvase del lenguaje coloquial en la versión francesa de La colmena, en tanto que el último está dedicado a la traducción del léxico cromático.
