Based on personal interviews by Betty Huning Hinton, this is the biography of Elizabeth Parkinson Simpson who was Chairperson of the Home Economics Department at the University of New Mexico from 1918-1952. Sara Reynolds Hall was built specifically for Mrs. Simpson's Home Economics Department. Betty Huning Hinton taught history in the Albuquerque Public Schools for more than 25 years. One of only about fifty copies of this early work by John Meem and Yvor Winters. This copy signed by Janet Lewis to her and husband's (Yvor Winters) bibliographer, Charles Gullans. Accompanying letter (dated 1996) gives a detailed account of the provenance of this piece as well as an overview of the relationship between Winters, Meem, Glenway Westcott and Monroe Wheeler among others. Book and original cover envelope sent to Gullans in 1973.
