Early owner's pencil notations on front endpapers; an even earlier owner's ink notes on margin of title page. Small amount of insect damage in bottom margin of first several leaves, but text itself is unaffected and unmarked. The binding is tight. Very good condition overall for a 17th-century publication. Gregory Hascard (d. 1708) served as Dean of Windsor for more than twenty years. In this tract, he argues that the Anglican Church was not an innovation of King Henry VIII prompted by the reforms of Martin Luther, as Catholics would say, but the true Church traceable directly back to Christ Himself.
