No Binding. Etat : Good. Large printed broadside, 39 × 25.7 cm. Scarce Yorkshire auction broadside issued in the bankruptcy of Robert Cuthbert, advertising the sale of a wind corn mill with patent sails at Aldbrough, near Hull, together with dwelling house, outbuildings and land. The sale was held at the Cross Keys Inn, Kingston upon Hull, on 8 May 1818. The mill appears to be the historic Aldbrough Corn Mill, a well-recorded Holderness windmill that survived until 1930 and is documented in local archives and museum collections. An attractive and uncommon piece of Yorkshire milling, agricultural and industrial-history ephemera, featuring a woodcut illustration of a windmill. Good only condition. Folded, worn and age-toned with small losses and minor repairs, but complete and legible.…

pp. 48. 8vo. Modern quarter calf in a cloth book box with leather spine label. Title stained and with some foxing throughout.

4to (280 x 220mm), pp. [iv], iii, [i], 391; title a little foxed, and somewhat spotted occasionally throughout; else a fine copy, uncut in the original blue boards, white paper spine (rubbed but sound). First and only edition: there was another issue (undated) with a London bookseller added to the imprint, but clearly this is the original issue, even though some cataloguers date that one to 1800. This skilful versification of the Gospels is posthumously published: Ralph Darling (1728-98) had been a physician and twice Mayor of Hull. The book was issued by subscription, and as might be supposed, the majority of those taking copies were from Hull or surrounding areas. William Wilberforce, who MP for Hull at this time and was of course a very earnest member of the Clapham Sect, is among those listed. Johnson, Provincial Poetry, 251 (the Hull-London issue).…

Only edition, 4to, pp. [4], iii, [1], 391, [1]; contemporary quarter tan calf over marbled boards; rebacked, old spine and spine label neatly laid down; very good and sound. Put to verse, this is an unusual treatment of the four gospels. Subscriber list notes takers for approximately 175 copies, so the edition was likely a small one. Not in Darlow & Moule.…

Paperback. Etat : new. Paperback. Three friends. One promise. A night that changes everything. In the suburban town of Springvale, Logan Anderson, Brayden Lewis, and Amber Donovan are inseparable best friends. Logan, confident on the surface but shaken by his slowly destabilizing home life, finds solace in the sport he loves and the steady presence of Brayden, his teammate, best friend, and the closest thing he's ever had to a sibling. Brayden, a quiet and reserved future superstar coming to the grips with his future, embraces the role of protector for his two younger friends remaining steady, selfless and always willing to carry his friends' struggles. And Amber, returning to public school after years away in the shadow of her late father's desire to see her grow up differently, is rediscovering her place in her hometown, and noticing that her childhood bond with Logan may be turning into something more. One cold December night, beneath a sky of winter stars, they choose three bright stars to mark their futures, vowing to follow them wherever life leads. But when tragedy strikes, that promise will be tested in ways they never imagined and learn that some promises aren't just kept, they're lived. Moving, heartfelt, deeply human, and told from three distinct points of view, In Pursuit of Starlight is a coming-of-age story about friendship, first love, and the constellations that guide us through the darkest nights.
