The Uffizi is a museum and a magnificent picture gallery in Florence, Italy. This book show some of the 2300 painting owned by the museum. The building was designed by Giorgio Vasari in the 1560's. He wrote Lives of the Artists about major Italian and Florentine artists at the time. The museum contains works by almost all the artists he wrote about. It also contains works from other countries and through the centuries up to the 19th century. The book shows photos of the museum's paintings representing famous painters through the centuries. Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit environmental restoration and education.
