Vi får möta många både etablerade och yngre samlare i texter och talrika interiörbilder med både konsten och dess ägare i sina vardagsmiljöer. Fokus ligger annars inte på konsten i sig. Boken berättar istället, både uttryckligen och mellan raderna, om ägarnas drivkrafter, habegär, självbild och prioriteringar. Om konstintressets relation till det egna yrket, om hur, när och varför konstinköpen görs, och ibland det motsatta när konstverk avyttras av en eller annan anledning. Och om själva samlarbegreppet, som en del tagit till sig helt, och andra tvekar inför. "It's mine" ger en rätt fascinerande inblick av konstsamlande i praktiken. Schablonbilden av samlaren får sig en törn, inte minst när det gäller pengar. Vi får flera exempel på att det kan vara prioriteringar eller envishet snarare än ett gränslöst bankkonto som bygger en samling. Det är ju helt sant, men också ett genomtänkt budskap i en bok som inte gör någon hemlighet av att vilja mana till efterföljd.
