The author's "full story of her romance with [William] Faulkner, [which] began when she was a script girl for Howard Hawks and Faulkner came to Hollywood to work on the scenario for THE ROAD TO GLORY, and continued over the next thirty years whenever time and chance gave the lovers an opportunity."
