Soft cover. Etat : As New. 1st Edition. Folded quality newsprint. In 2005-06 Jim Goldberg traveled to Ukraine as part of a project which explored migration, at the start of the new millennium. For Another Life a new fund raising publication, Goldberg revisits his work from the time, alongside Ukrainian writer, and film-maker Iryna Tsilyk. If I had to depict a portrait of my generation Ukrainian people born in the times of change, on the ruins of the empire I would trip over this challenging task. We are all too different. We grew up in dissimilar regions of our big country at the crossroads of various influences, we spoke and speak different languages, we were formed as individuals in non-identical families and environments with different traumas of the past. And yet, it seems we have a lot in common. Regardless of our backgrounds, religions, views, social statuses and so on, we all grew up on shared desires and searching for another life. - Iryna Tsilyk. Goldberg, Jim (illustrateur).

Testi di Iryna Tsilyk Formato giornale ripiegato e stampato in digitale. Cm 50x35. pp. 24. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. 1st Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket, [88]p : all colour illustrations ; 33 cm. Very good, unmarked first edition, lower edges of the board with rubbing/scuffing. "Christopher Anderson began photographing New York City cops in the wake of 9/11, as the visual landscape of the city he called home began to change. Bomb blast barriers went up, cops carrying larger guns seemed to be everywhere, and whilst the increased presence of security was designed, in part, to make New Yorkers feel safe, it reminded Anderson that something was deeply wrong. Then, in the wake of Occupy Wall Street, the death of Eric Garner and the election of Trump, Anderson found himself making photographs of cops on the streets of New York City once again, as a form of unconscious protest on a larger sense of authority. On assessing the images he was making, Anderson began to see them as something entirely different than a protest or commentary on power - there was almost a sentimentality. 'I saw a portrait of a working class, immigrant America. The uniform only served as a thread on which to hang a cross section sample. The photographs felt more like a love letter to New York'"-.

loose_leaf. Etat : Fine. Prima edizione (First Edition). Cm 15x20. pp. 12. . Ottimo (Fine). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . - Robbie Lawrence. Book.

Hardcover. Etat : New. Etat de la jaquette : New. 1st Edition. New in Shrinkwrap. Bard Back, Silk screened, Flexible jacket. Size — 330 x 245 mms. Larry Clark was 16 in 1962 when he and his freinds started shooting Valo - a drug store nasal inhaler that contained a tremendous amount of amphetamine. After leaving Oklahoma to study photography in New York, and two years serving in Vietnam, Clark returned to Tulsa at 20, where he graduated from amphetamines to heroin. Here upended traditional documentary photography, turning his camera on himself and his social circle, producing a ground-breaking series of raw and intimate photographs chronicling the disintegration of the American dream. Clark's deeply intimate images exposed the previously unseen lives of suburban American teenagers, living a transgressive, outlaw lifestyle, hanging out in crash pads and committing burglaries and armed robberies to score dope. A small number of these photographs would come to form 'Tulsa', a cornerstone of contemporary photography. 50 years on, Larry Clark has returned to his archive of vintage prints, crafting a powerful vision of his work from 1962-1973, to produce his new book 'Return', a meticulously printed, outsized monograph.

OTA / PVC Jacket. Etat : New. In the early 1980's, Sunil Gupta enrolled at the Royal College of Art in London, where he had access to colour negative processing facilities. He took to the streets of the capital in search of the centres gay London life around Earl's Court, King's Road, and the West End.\n\n"I hoped to repeat my experience of Christopher Street in New York, except now in London and in colour. It wasn't to be. Even what appeared to be a concentration of gay life was not dense enough to create its own public space, so I was getting either huge gaps between people or a crowd of very mixed people. I decided to abandon an exclusively gay subject and started concentrating on whatever caught my eyemigrants, people of colour, gay men, elderly people out and about on their own." Sunil Gupta\n\nThis series recently resurfaced through Gupta's process of archiving his past images, providing a catalogue of the Sloanes, New Romantic and pensioners who once roamed London's streets. \n\n\nISBN 978-1-913288-31-0 \n\nPages 124\n\nCover OTA / PVC Jacket / Silk screened \n\nSize 200x285mm.

paperback. Etat : As New. Prima edizione (First Edition). Fotografie in bianco e nero di Rachidi Bissiriou. Testo di Kin Woo Prodotto in collaborazione con David Hill Gallery e Carr. Cm 20x21. pp. 80. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Book.

In 1968, the West African photographer Rachidi Bissiriou set up his photographic studio, Studio Plaisir, in his hometown of Kétou in Benin, which he operated until its closure in 2004. The timing of this was conspicuous - Bissiriou was only 18 and Benin had only declared its independence from French rule eight years earlier, in 1960. Armed with a Yashica twin-lens camera, Bissiriou documented these heady times, spending the next three decades shooting black and white photographs of the locals in a standard 6x6cm format." Gloire Immortelle was Bissiriou's first ever solo exhibition. It captures the spirit of a pivotal historical moment through picturing the lives and styles of those who lived it. Hardcover. Etat : New. In 1986, the American artist Judith Black was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship with the intention of documenting a cross-country road trip with her four children. Unlike Robert Frank's iconic Guggenheim-funded road trip 30 years earlier, Black's mission was much more intimate. Rather than documenting America, her intention was to photograph her children, friends, and family as she traversed the country. Her itinerary included stops in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and various sights along the way.\n\nDuring the trip, Black visited her aunt at the Michigan cabin, where as a child Black and her family went each August to avoid the brutal summer heat of her hometown Springfield, Illinois. Ironically, it was there at the age of seven that Black purchased her first Brownie camera, while staying with her grandmother. \n\nAfter returning to Massachusetts, Black continued photographing family and friends during vacations, recording various celebrations, birthdays, reunions, and births.\n\n"Sweet memories and histories embedded in each photograph." - Judith Black \n\nISBN 978-1-913288-28-0\n\nPages 128\n\nCover Hard back / 3/4 bound / tip on \n\nSize 250x250mm.

Hard cover. Etat : New. ?We step and do not step into the same rivers; we are and are not.? Heraclitus of Ephesus MASSIMO LEARDINI is an Italian photographer who has been based in the Norway for the past 30 years where he works with a small number of models on extended collaborations. This new publication ELV (Norwegian for River) explores Leardini?s fascination with the body and the landscape. Presenting a series of transcendental images of contorted fragments of the female body, set deep within in the primordial forests of Scandinavia. The map that Leardini unfolds is not built, but behaves like a puzzle in the imagination. The photographs were made in summers between 2014 and 2019 when the Scandinavian light lengthens the shadows due to the obliqueness with which the sun reaches this part of the world. This causes the light to draw the silhouettes of the subjects on the background with a high but delicate contrast. ISBN ? 978-1-913288-11-2 Pages ? 104 Cover ? Hardback / 3/4 bound boards / foil stamped / Dust jacket Size ? 335x236mm.

hardcover. Etat : New. Prima edizione (First Edition). Fotografie in bianco e nero di Susan Kandel . Cm 30x24. pp. 112. . Nuovo (New). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . E a volte c'erano inviti ripetuti". Book.

paperback. Etat : Ottimo (Fine). Prima edizione (First Edition). London 1985/2020. Testo e fotografie a piena pagina in bianco e nero di Sunil Gupta Design: The Entente, Londra. Tagli argentati. Cm 31x21,4. pp. 56. . Ottimo (Fine). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . (.) Book.

Flexible. Etat : New. By the age of four Dave Heath had been abandoned by both of his parents. By the age of fifteen he had lived in a series of foster homes and, finally, in an orphanage.\n\nIn 1947, Heath saw Ralph Crane's photo-essay "Bad Boy's Life" in LIFE Magazine. Struck by the success of how succinctly these pictures connected to a deeply felt shared experience, Heath knew he wanted to become a photographer. Using the orphanage's darkroom, he began to master the mechanics of the medium. Heath drew his influence from W. Eugene Smith and photographers of the Chicago School including Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan.\n\nIn the early 1960s, working in the streets on North Eastern American Cities, Heath used its inhabitants to capture individual moments in tightly structured compositions that are charged with the importance of their individuality and the seriousness of their situation.\n\nOn speaking about his collection of vernacular photographs Heath said "When I was 25, I had five photographs from my past, snapshots of myself and my foster family, and one of my mother and father, and I tore them up - because I wanted to purify myself, to cleans the background out of my system. And I think now that I shouldn't have done that, because I've collected all these old photographs to replace those five. So in a sense shoes five have generated themselves into thousands. In a way it's like trying to recreate, through these old photographs, a family album of my own for a family I never had. On a simple, kind of emotional level that's my motivation for collecting these photographs. And in the beginning there was all this intense feeling of trying to reclaim from oblivion all these people, all these images of people, which were destined just to disappear." - Dave Health \n\nThis new book reproduces Heath's original prints, many of which only exist as individual work prints, with beautiful precision. \n\nISBN 978-1-913288-48-8\nPages 120\nCover Flexibound / foil stamped \nSize 250 x 200mm.
