This book presents an in-depth analysis of the activities of the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade (VALB), a controversial organization cited as subversive and Communist by the United States Attorney General in 1947. Drawing from primary source material, the author uncovers the VALBâs true nature and objectives, which extended beyond providing assistance to families of imprisoned Spanish workers. The book delves into the organization's history, its connections to the Communist Party, and its efforts to solicit funds and materials from the American public under the guise of humanitarian aid. Highlighting the VALB's role in supporting the Communist underground movement in Spain and its efforts to strengthen the Communist Party's influence in the United States, this book exposes the organization's true agenda and the lengths to which it went to advance its political goals.
