This book addresses the specific issue of faith and Christianity among young people who were baptized as children but have failed to make a profession of faith as they matured. The author's concern is that, while they may not outwardly renounce their baptism, they manifest no real interest in spiritual things and are living as men and women of the world. The author speaks to this group with candor and seeks to warn them of the dangers of their situation, emphasizing that living in sin without regard for God's will exposes them to his wrath. The author posits that to be a Christian is to be a child of God, an heir of glory, and a joint-heir with Christ. The author states that if they are Christians, they will love Christ, believe in him for salvation, love his people, and not be ashamed to confess his name. The author argues there are but two classes of men: those who are the friends of God and those who are still his enemies and that those who do not embrace Christ as their Savior cannot possess true holiness. The author concludes with an earnest appeal, encouraging the reader to abandon their worldly companions, embrace Christ, and repent, thereby securing for themselves a blessed eternity with Him.
