This book is an extensive and humorous critique of the "wrongheaded" politics, learning, and religious views of the time, all delivered as an extended plea to the nobility to patronize the author and his family. The author uses satirical examples to demonstrate his views on the absurdity of the scientific, religious, and political ideas that were popular in his day. This book is an accessible and enjoyable way to examine historical ideas about learning, religion, and politics and will appeal to anyone interested in the intersection of history and humor.
