Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. From the personal collection of Dr. Don Noble, Professor Emeritus of the University of Alabama and the host of Alabama Public Television's 'Bookmark' author interview program. First edition stated (with 2 at the head of the number line, as was the Random House practice in the 1980s). DJ fully intact with $17.95 price point; minimal shelfwear, with slightly more edgewear at head & heel, plus one tiny closed tear at spine head, nearly invisible beneath mylar. Red boards, red cloth spine stamped with gold; small faded/worn spot at rear fore-edge; book block is very slightly cocked with spine exhibiting signs of previous reading(s), otherwise as tight in the channel as a new book. Light foxing per usual to block edges and endpapers, as well as to DJ interior with markings just at edges (invisible under the mylar cover, of course); tiny moisture mark on front paste-down, hidden under front flap. Excepting Don Noble's name in pencil on the front free-endpaper, interior is clean. Lovely Association Copy. For clarity, I would rate this one as "Near Very Good" if I could still use more granular descriptions, as it's certainly better than a "Good" copy. One of the more violent, cruel books you could ever hope to read; McCarthy truly understood how bloodshed defines American history. Additional details and photos happily provided upon request.

"Blood Meridian" was Cormac McCarthy's fifth novel, a dark and bloody western which, though well recieved by some critics, was an immense commercial failure, with fewer than 1,500 selling of a 5,000 book run. However, after the success of McCarthy's "The Border Triolgy", many revisited his older works, "Blood Meridian" in particular gaining immense popularity. Today, "Blood Meridian" is hailed as McCarthy's magnum opus with many considering it one of the greatest American novels ever written. "Blood Meridian" has seen several attempts at a film adaptation since 1995, it's most recent attempt happening in 2023 headed by John Hilcoat, who had previously adapted McCarthy's novel "The Road" 1391938. Shelved Dupont Bookstore. First Edition, First Printing, First Issue Dust Jacket.
