Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. London. W.H. Allen and Co. 1971. First UK printing. No later dates shown. Hard Cover. Pott 4to 8" x 6¼ " [20cm x 10cm] approx. 208 pp. Plum boards with gilt titles to the spine. Moderate marking to the fore edge and some toning to the text block edge. Illustrated endpapers by Robert Aulicino. Introduction by Cash Asher. Former owner name across the front endpaper. Jacket has a little edge wear and a nick at the head of spine to the rear. Both book and jacket are just about very good. Chief Red Fox was about to celebrate his 101st birthday when this 209 page volume was originally released. He had kept pencil notes (example at back) for 75 years. This is an extraordinary account of Fox's long life. Born in 1870 in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains, he recalls the "wild and Free" time of his childhood when he lived with his family in a tepee, hunted with a bow and arrow and counted white people among his friends. He later left the reservation to travel with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, until he heard that his uncle, Crazy Horse, had been killed by U.S. Army solders and of the Wounded Knee Massacre. The dust jacket will be protected with a new inert archival Brodart sleeve which is removable. Please contact us if you would like any more information or additional images.
