This compendium of theological studies â" part of a larger, unfinished work composed around the year 1292 â" tackles some of the deep-seated problems in understanding and communicating knowledge that the author, a philosopher and theologian, believed were behind many errors and misunderstandings in his field. Examining the role of authorities and customs in shaping our beliefs, the author delves into a range of topics from logic and metaphysics to psychology and linguistics. Written from the perspective of a 13th-century scholar, this book presents a fascinating glimpse into the intellectual debates of the time, offering a fresh perspective on the enduring problems of human knowledge and understanding.
