Read more about the birchen cornucopia. Also : Campbell Hardy, English Express Rifle, Milford House, finny tribe, still-hunting, gray hackle, rye whiskey, Flanders Meadows, Brook Pool, and James W. Stuber. Most of the b/w photos accompanying the text appear to be 1890 to 1840. Cond : Paper wrapper has a wood-grain look with a blue-purple spine band and white lettering. Front cover photo features 5 or 6 men around a late campfire in the shade of a tarp. Volume is bright, tight, square, and clean. Almost collectible. Flaw is an old gift inscription on the title page. Quote (p. 101) : " It seems the Micmacs place in the water a rather long basket, large at one end and much narrower at the other, which connects with a wooden sluice leading up to the surface. The eels, apparently, enjoy the sport of going up the incline ._._._. ." Size: 8vo.
